Polaris Networks has developed a comprehensive portfolio of Functional Testers for LTE Network Equipment Manufacturers, System Integrators and Service Providers. These test solutions will minimize the time required to design LTE equipment and deliver it to the market place.
Polaris' LTE Functional Testers test the entities of EPC and provides a wrap around testing solution for LTE eNodeB. They test the correctness of implementation of the equipment in line with 3GPP and other standards. The Functional testers are designed to verify the behavior of the Device Under Test by creating different test scenarios of control message exchanges. The test tools test the mandatory requirements of the Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols as well as the optional features.
Polaris Networks has defined the functional test cases for several LTE protocol stack components and network elements. |

TopeNodeB Functional Tester
The eNodeB Functional Tester tests the correctness of implementation of a LTE Evolved NodeB in accordance with 3GPP TS 36.321 (MAC), TS 36.322 (RLC), TS 36.323 (PDCP), TS 36.331 (RRC), TS 36.413 (S1AP) and other related standards.
The eNodeB Functional Tester emulates an LTE UE and an MME to test both the LTE-Uu radio interface and the S1-MME network interface of an eNodeB. The tester also emulates an eNodeB entity to test the eNodeB-to-eNodeB interaction over the X2 logical interface. Polaris Networks has defined the functional test cases for eNodeB testing to cover all aspects of the operations of an eNodeB.

MME Functional Tester
The MME Functional Tester tests the correctness of an implementation of LTE Mobile Management Entity in accordance with 3GPP TS 36.413 (S1 Application Protocol), TS 24.301 (NAS), TS 29.374 (GTPv2-C) and other relevant Release 8 standards.
The MME Functional Tester emulates an LTE eNodeB and other Core Network entities such as the S-GW and SGSN. It tests the S1-MME, S11, S10 and S3 interfaces of the MME. Polaris Networks has defined the functional test cases for MME testing. These test cases cover all MME procedures, including UE Attach, Detach, Handover, Paging, Tracking Area Updates, etc.
The first release of the MME Functional Tester focuses on testing the S1-MME and S11 interfaces. A subsequent release will include tests for the S3 and S10 interfaces.

S-GW Functional Tester
The S-GW Functional Tester tests the correctness of an implementation of LTE Serving Gateway in accordance with 3GPP TS 29.274, TS 29.281, TS 23.401 and other relevant Release 8 and Release 9 standards.
The S-GW Functional Tester emulates an LTE eNodeB and other Core Network entities such as the MME, P-GW, S-GW, RNC and SGSN. It tests the S1-u, S11, S5/S8 , S12 and S4 interfaces of the S-GW. Polaris Networks has defined the functional test cases for S-GW testing.

P-GW Functional Tester
The P-GW Functional Tester tests the correctness of an implementation of LTE Packet Data Network Gateway in accordance with 3GPP TS 29.274, TS 29.212, TS 23.401 and other relevant Release 8 and Release 9 standards.
The P-GW Functional Tester emulates LTE Core Network entities such as the S-GW, PCRF, OCS and OFCS. It tests the S5/S8, S7/Gx, Gy and Gz interfaces of the P-GW. Polaris Networks has defined the functional test cases for P-GW testing. |
